February Gathering Guide
The never changing truth that it is good to be together.
The ebb and flow of my writing has a lot to do with the struggle to keep up. Apps, rules, creativity, culture, and so on is constantly changing. I don’t, and have never, moved at the pace of the internet. Don’t get me wrong, I love an overnight amazon delivery and a chipotle pick up lane. Convenience and quick has it place.
As I wrestled with content planning. Asking myself the ever present questions: “what should I post about next?” What’s new? What haven’t they heard before? Who hasn’t said…? Are they tired of…? What have I said too much of ? I quickly find myself getting caught up in the rhythm of create more, post more, show up more, be more.
And just as quickly as I start running on the content creation hamster wheel at internet speed, I hear the Gentle Whisper remind me to tell the Truth. I am the same yesterday, today, and tomorrow. I don’t change like the world does. There is nothing new under the sun. Remind them what I am reminding you. It is good to be together. Practice hospitality. Love one another. Feed my sheep.
It is good to do life together. We are meant to be with people. It can look like fine china or paper plates. It could be a formal invite or an open door. I can send you the latest and greatest information, share with you the newest hospitality trend, or try to sell you a cool product. But it boils down to this. Send the invite, open the door and offer something to eat and a place to sit.
